Development Excellence Technical Tools
The Center of Development Excellence has developed a new Library of Technical Tools, containing sustainable planning documents and best practices, including but not limited to, zoning ordinances, Form-based Codes, comprehensive plans, thoroughfare plans, Transit-Oriented Development, design guidelines, incentives, and other innovative local and regional government practices from the North Central Texas region, as well as around the country, that might serve as practical examples of tools to aid you in providing sustainable planning and development and advance its mission.
The Library allows the user to tailor their search of the documents contained within by either setting filters, such as by type of document, municipality, Principles of Development Excellence, or by typing in a specific word or phrase in the search window. This search feature not only searches the titles of all the documents but the entire content of the documents as well.
To sort and filter documents, click a column header for a dropdown menu of filter and sorting options. Note: You must use Internet Explorer to be able to filter by column header.
If you have a more current version of a document contained within our Library of Technical Tools, we would appreciate it if you would send us an email at email@example.com letting us know about the updated document and how we can obtain a copy of it. Also, if you know of a sustainable planning document or best practice that we do not have in our Library, please email us with a short description of the document and if possible, provide us with a description of where we can obtain the document so we can include it in the Library.
While each of the tools appears to further one or more Principles of Development Excellence, the listing of an ordinance or policy should not be interpreted as an official endorsement by the Center of Development Excellence.
