City of Keller – Tree Preservation
| Summary:
The City of Keller developed a tree preservation ordinance in response to concerns by the public over the loss of trees from new development. The ordinance prohibits the indiscriminate clearing of property. The ordinance’s provisions for tree preservation are intended to preserve mature trees and natural areas through good site planning, to protect quality trees during construction, to facilitate site design that will enhance the viability of preserved trees and to control the removal of trees when necessary. The article also provides for a permitting and enforcement procedure. |
