City of Fort Worth - Mercado de Fort Worth
Summary:
The Mercado de Fort Worth is a designated area on the Historic North side of Fort Worth that has been targeted for redevelopment. Properties within the 5-block radius are eligible for commercial redevelopment through the Mercado Loan Program administered through the Fort Worth Economic Development Corporation.
- A Mexican-themed market place, with restaurants and shops that complement each other
- A centralized parking area to alleviate development restrictions
- A pedestrian walkway using the alley to connect the existing buildings
The Vision
The goal of the Mercado is to foster commercial redevelopment in North Fort Worth capitalizing on the highly visible location, linkage to the Stockyards, and the Historic/Cultural assets of the area.
