The Center of Development Excellence (Center) is a regional program in North Central Texas that is built on collaborative partnerships with a variety of stakeholders including local governments, businesses, private sector professionals and organizations, non-profits, and the public. The Center works to leverage opportunities and funding to create a North Central Texas region that is resilient, sustainable, and provides a high quality of life for residents.
The Center provides resources, training, and regional forums to share information, best practices, and technical assistance to local government members. Partnerships with a variety of organizations provide opportunities to bring the North Central Texas region together on a range of important topics and challenges important to the future growth of the region.
North Texas 2050, published in 2011, provided a framework of policies and actions for the North Central Texas region to consider in the future. It is the goal of the Center of Development Excellence to provide resources to local governments and other stakeholders in the region that assist in working towards goals outlined in the North Texas 2050 vision.
Key efforts of the Center of Development Excellence include supporting development in the North Central Texas region that characterize the Principles of Development Excellence; administering the regional CLIDE Award program; and, providing a regional clearinghouse of best practices, technical tools, and training that support sustainable development.
The Center of Development Excellence is a program of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).
