Lego Visioning Exercise

The mission of the Center of Development Excellence is to promote quality growth in North Central Texas that enhances the built environment, reduces vehicle miles of travel, uses water and energy resources effectively and efficiently, and helps advance environmental stewardship to ensure continued economic vitality and provide the highest attainable quality of life for all residents.

The Lego Exercise, an activity of the Center of Development Excellence, is a hands-on exercise where participants are asked to identify where they think the most suitable locations for future growth will be within ten counties of our 16-county region. Participants have opportunities to indicate the type and intensity of growth they would like to see occur. The Lego Exercise leans on concepts of sustainability and community design to begin addressing the challenges experienced in a rapidly growing metropolitan area. The LEGO activity is an easy to use exercise ideal for city officials/city managers, city council members, citizen groups, schools and universities and many more.
