Percent of City Populations with Walkable Park Access

Having a park within walking distance allows residents easy access to parks, but also allows them to reach it without having to use a car. Ensuring that residents have walkable park access creates equal access to facilities and helps create gathering places for local communities or neighborhoods. The overall increase in the percent of people with walkable park access shows that developers are either including parks within or near developments, are building more densely around parks, or there has been an increase in pedestrians’ connectivity to parks.
